Wonders of Modern Astronomy: Telescope

Observational astronomers use telescopes or other instruments to observe the heavens. Instead of observing the cosmos piecemeal, pointing your telescope at this galaxy today and that one tomorrow, what if you just took one big picture of the whole sky? Crudely speaking, that is the goal of astronomical sky surveys, such as the Palomar Observatory sky survey in the mid-1950s. Such surveys have not replaced observations of individual celestial bodies; rather they offer a macro view of the heavens, revealing the broad patterns. As eternal and unchanging as the night sky might sometimes seem, it is actually filled with flickers and flashes, explosions and eruptions that flare up and fade out in a matter of seconds or hours. To catch these flighty phenomena, scientists have to be standing by at all hours, ready to reposition satellites and swivel telescopes at a moment's notice. In fact, this is one of the areas of astronomy where amateur astronomers, by virtue of their wide fields of view and sheer numbers, have made crucial discoveries.

Karylle Nipple Slip and Wardrobe Malfunction Photo on ASAP XV
After Anne Curtis Wardrobe Malfunction during their live show on Boracay for the ASAP XV summer special, I just received the news that singer-actress Karylle, daughter of ZsaZsa Padilla, also have a wardrobe malfunction in Bora. Seems it wasn’t only Anne who figured in a wardrobe malfunction incident during the “ASAP XV” Boracay taping a month ago. Now, people are feasting on another controversial photo this time involving Karylle. The photo that surfaced in cyberspace captured the singer whose bra top appears to have slipped. She was doing a production number in the shot with Yeng Constantino and Vina Morales. The photo surfaced in another entertainment website on April 8. According to sources however, her breast wasn’t exposed and nothing really showed because unlike Anne Curtis, Karylle wore a nipple tape to protect her from a possible wardrobe malfunction.Sunday, April 4, 2010

Many Christians celebrate Jesus Christ's resurrection on Easter Sunday. It is typically the most well-attended Sunday service of the year for Christian churches. Many churches hold special services on Easter Sunday, which celebrate the Jesus Christ's resurrection after his crucifixion. Through his death, burial and resurrection, Jesus paid the penalty for sin, thus purchasing for all who believe in him, eternal life in Christ Jesus. In Pagan times, many groups of people organized spring festivals. Many of these celebrated the re-birth of nature, the return the land to fertility and the birth of many young animals. These are the origins of the Easter eggs that we still hunt for and eat. In Christian times, the spring began to be associated with Jesus Christ's crucifixion and resurrection. The crucifixion is remembered on Good Friday and the resurrection is remembered on Easter Sunday. The idea of the resurrection joined with the ideas of re-birth in Pagan beliefs. Many families observe the religious aspects of Easter by attending Sunday Mass or services in the morning and then participating in a feast or party in the afternoon.
On Easter Sunday, It is also a time for decorating eggs or sharing chocolate eggs among friends and family. Since its origins, it has been a time of celebration and feasting and many Traditional Easter games and customs developed, such as Egg rolling, Egg tapping, Pace egging and Egg decorating. Many people also decorate eggs. These can be hard boiled eggs that can be eaten later, but may also be model eggs made of plastic, chocolate, candy or other materials. It is also common to organize Easter egg hunts. Eggs of some form are hidden, supposedly by a rabbit or hare. People, especially children, then search for them. In some areas, Easter egg hunts are a popular way for local businesses to promote themselves or may even be organized by churches.Blog Disclaimer
