4G iPhone to have a 5-Megapixel Camera

iPhone 4GAccording to a source the upcoming iPhone 4G, the next-generation of Apple's wonder phone that will make an appearance at WWDC '10, might actually have a 5-Megapixel camera. The rumor was published in DigiTimes, a Taiwanese publication and the published report claims that OmniVision is set to supply a 5-megapixel camera for the next-generation iPhone. Now what makes this rumor really interesting is the fact that OmniVision happens to be the supplier for the 3.2 megapixel camera sensor which is included in the iPhone 3GS. Omnivision also claims that the orders will be almost double, from a mere 20 million units to a 40 million and plus for 2010. And for what all we can believe for now, the reason to introduce a a high-quality camera sensor in the new iPhone is either because Apple wants to keep up with other industry-standard smartphones or because it has plans to use it as a front-camera on the new iPhone for video calling purposes?
